NUSAA...So named to include all the countries of the partnership's origins, NUSAA is the culmination of input from breeders in Namibia, the USA and Australia.

Nusaa is a partnership whose American arm is based in Coalville, Utah with Tom and Carrie Boyer of Chalk Creek Boers,  Namibian partners Dirk Louw, Willie Coetzee, Oubaas Steenkamp and Ronnie Coleman and the ABS principles, Geof and Celia Burnett-Smith.

This partnership was developed to supply the American Boer goat industry with a number of new, elite genetic lines.

Nusaa has already conducted a live animal export consisting of 20 superior quality animals to act as a prelude to a much larger export of 143 embryos which were implanted at Chalk Creek in 2007.

Donors for the embryo collection include the 2007 Australian National Grand Champion Buck, Terraweena Burger, the 2006 Australian National Grand Champion Doe, Terraweena 1450 and other famous sires such as Lazareth, Abraham, Chrome, Morris and Moshie (son of Moses).  An equal number of elite sires and dams from the Amani Stud are donors for this same collection, including Amani Rupert and representatives from the Amani Atlantis, Amani Lancelot and Amani Lazer bloodlines.

It is our belief that this breeding nucleus will reflect the quality of our stock to good advantage and better facilitate the growing demand that our company receives from the region.

These animals were selected by Geof and Celia Burnett-Smith, in conjunction with Dirk Louw and Willie Coetzee.  All animals were selected specifically to represent leading bloodlines from the individual studs, for breeding performance and for their overall quality.

The stock was moved to a quarantine facility in Melbourne following their appearance at the 2007 National Championships in Sydney, where they had competed strongly, proving they were well and truly amongst the country's best.

The Nusaa partnership is an exciting prospect for all those involved.  We look forward to providing the American Boer goat industry with a new alternative in elite stock in the coming months.
